Osprey Pole Installation in Old Mill Pond

Sunday, May 3rd  10 AM

McKenzie Community Track & Field ~ Mill Pond

51326 Blue River Drive

Blue River, Oregon

¼ mile east of McKenzie Schools

A bald eagle flew over the old mill pond last October and got several folks thinking about placing a pole for nesting.

Ken Batten, owner of SOF is a helicopter pilot liked the project and plans to donate his machine and time. The helicopter is a Vietnam-era Huey that he uses for logging.

At approximately 10 am, Ken will be placing the Osprey pole in the mill pond which is a portion of the property donated by Aaron & Marie Jones. Ken is prepared to do multiple drops from 100' in the air if necessary.

Wish us all good weather and a successful landing of the pole!

The pole is donated by Lane Electric Cooperative. Contact Dave D’Avanzo

Public is welcome to come and watch this exciting process from a safe distance.
